Let’s talk Habits!
Habit stacking involves integrating a new habit into an existing routine by linking a habit to one you already have set. For example, if you get up and make coffee or tea in the morning, you can build another habit with that action like taking your supplements.
To make this new habit set in stone, think to yourself everyday, “Before I make coffee, I take my supplements.” Let your natural habit of making coffee be the trigger for you to remember your new hobby of taking supplements.
It’s a simple tactic that can offer big results. There are some habits you know you will always do without thinking, so try to attach something new to that ingrained habit to trigger the new action.
You can also utilize daily mundane habits to boost your wellness practices. Our favorites? Read while walking on the treadmill. Listen to podcasts during dishwashing time. Spend time catching up with a friend during laundry breaks in the day.
So instead of feeling overwhelmed at how you can reach new goals with everything that’s already on your plate, get creative and figure out how to be more strategic with the time you already have to create forward momentum.
